why i tried it...

I went on a hunt for this one. I specifically wanted something with Lactic Acid. My 40 year old, somewhat uneven and slightly pigmented skin loves this ingredient.  Lactic Acid delivers the “I take naps and drink infinite amounts of water” glow that seems to deteriorate after 35.   The Sephora 4.5 rating also helped.

my experience...

I popped into Sephora and got my hands on two samples. I used sparingly and made them last 4 applications, twice a day-once in the morning and once at night.  By day three, I needed more. By day 6, my complexion started to even, fine lines seemed to dissipate and my hyper-pigmentation was fading. What I was not expecting and became most evident was how plump and firm my skin looked. This is tough to explain if you already have healthy looking skin, but something I’m confident you will experience regardless. I was using Good Genes during a super hectic time at work where I was traveling quite a bit. That said- my skin appeared to be the most well rested part of me. While there is no substitute for a good night’s sleep, my skin somehow escaped this busy time unscathed and was actually complimented more than usual.  

how i used it...

I used Sunday Riley Good Genes religiously twice a day until I ran out (about one month for the 15mL) . In the morning I would apply after cleansing and before my moisturizer. In the evening I would apply after Sunday Riley’s Luna Sleeping Night Oil (no moisturizer here unless I felt I really needed it).  This “Power Couple” combination is supreme and performs like some of the top spa medical products I’ve used in the past.

Side note- this combination is POWERFUL. It is Lactic Acid + Retinol. My skin can handle it, but ease into something like this if you have not tried products with these ingredients in the past.

final thoughts...

Sunday Riley Good Genes you’ve impressed me! I wish you were a little more affordable. Penny saving aside, you were worth every pump. I have you on repeat for now.
